And here is a poem from Nikki Giovanni, from Blues: For All the Changes --
The Poem for Frances Brown
(My First Warm Hearth Friend)
There are things you know . . . Clouds rise . . . Stars twinkle . . . Snow
melts . . . Rain makes thins grow . . . Sunshine warms . . . Trees cool . . .
If you love something . . . You will lose it
But the memory of motion . . . The wonder of the enchantment . . . The
blue of the glacier . . . The blue of the sky . . . The blue in your heart . . .
The reality of conclusion . . .
Through transforming . . . Stays

you better love something, many things. Love life...because you know you will lose it
I am sorry to hear that you are sad. It happens to the best of us. Some times all you can do is go to bed early.
Thank you for posting this poem. I had just met a friend for tea and she quoted Nikki Giovanni and then in a used book store the book jumped off the shelf at me and opened to the page this poem. When I arrived at home and googled it, I found it on your site. I am grateful.
G-d Bless
