What to do in Chicago this Sunday

I'm exhausted from making twelve books and not napping enough, so I'm listening to a really hilarious podcast that interviews Andrea, my papermaking teacher. And plugging my friend Eric's band:

METAGAMI has landed ... Celebrate the release of our new CD out on Lens Records with a Labor Day BBQ. Join us for free food and drinks between 7 and 9, and stick around for three of the best bands around! Free admission, free giveaways, free food and drinks, and more!

FILE UNDER: TAKING IT OVER THE TOP
Avagami is teaming up with Ania Greiner and Liz Winfield of the interdisciplinary performance group 3 card molly, who have created a performance to occur in reaction to our set of songs. It involves gorilla suits. If you have ever seen one of Liz and Ania's performances, or even if you haven't, you will not want to miss this singular event.

  1. I forgot to say: Andrea is being interviewed while paddling on a lagoon at Ox-Bow, where she teaches papermaking and book structures in the summertime. I was her assistant last year and it is truly a wonderful place to make paper.
